Greg DeMichillie analyzes and writes about Microsoft’s development platform and tools.
Prior to joining DIRECTIONS, Greg was the Group Program Manager at Microsoft responsible for the overall design and feature set for Visual C# and C++. He was one of the founding members of the C# language team and a key contributor to the initial design of .NET, as well as leading a large team throughout its development.
During his nine years at Microsoft, Greg held a number of positions in the Developer Tools Division and worked on a number of products, including Visual J++ and Visual Basic. During his tenure at Microsoft, Greg was one of the most highly regarded speakers at events such as Microsoft’s Professional Developer Conferences and TechEd, as well as at one-on-one events at the Executive Briefing Center.
Before joining Microsoft, Greg worked as a software developer at Software Publishing Corporation, where he worked on a DOS, Windows, and OS/2 graphics program and C++ cross-platform class library. His undergraduate education was at the University of California at Davis.
